- As an IT Infrastructure Project Manager with a strong background in network engineering, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing complex infrastructure projects within the telecommunications domain.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Full Project Lifecycle:
- Manage all phases of telecommunications infrastructure projects—initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure—ensuring successful delivery aligned with business goals, timelines, and budgets.
Project Governance:
- Establish and manage project governance structures, engaging steering committees and executive sponsors to provide direction, oversight, and decision-making support.
Scope Definition and Change Management:
- Define detailed project scope and deliverables with stakeholders and technical teams. Implement a structured change control process to manage scope adjustments effectively.
Stakeholder Engagement and Management:
- Identify and engage relevant stakeholders, maintaining consistent communication to align expectations, report progress, and manage dependencies.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including network engineers, vendors, and other technical resources. Foster a collaborative environment focused on achieving project milestones.
Resource Planning and Management:
- Allocate, monitor, and optimize resources effectively to meet project requirements, proactively addressing resource constraints or gaps.
Budget Management and Financial Reporting:
- Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets. Track expenditures, identify cost variances, and provide regular financial updates to senior management.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Implement and enforce quality standards for all project deliverables, conducting systematic reviews and compliance checks to ensure high performance and reliability.
Vendor and Third-Party Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring contractual obligations are met and deliverables align with project requirements and timelines.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively. Develop risk response plans to minimize impact and maintain project continuity.
Project Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including project plans, progress reports, issue logs, and post-implementation evaluations to support transparency and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager, successfully leading complex IT infrastructure projects within the telecommunications industry.
- Proven track record in the implementation, upgrade, and management of telecom infrastructure, with a strong understanding of their technical and operational impacts.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to create and manage project plans, allocate resources effectively, and deliver results within established timelines and budgets.
- Solid technical knowledge of network engineering principles, including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and telecom systems.
- Deep knowledge of telecom operations and technologies, including fiber optics, VoIP, network security, and core network components.
- In-depth understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and telecom-specific compliance frameworks.
- Strong competency in project management tools including Microsoft Project, Jira, and other Agile project delivery platforms.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to facilitate collaboration among multi-functional teams and external partners.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks, analyze technical issues, and make informed decisions.
- Project management certification is highly desirable especially in agile practices.
