Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Superintendent to oversee and manage daily operations in our plastic manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in plastic processing methods (such as injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, or thermoforming), strong leadership capabilities, and a results-oriented approach to drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate production activities across multiple shifts to ensure timely delivery of high-quality plastic products.
- Plan, organize, and manage production schedules based on customer demand and operational capacity.
- Monitor and optimize manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, extrusion) to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve output.
- Implement and enforce safety, health, and environmental policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and technicians.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to resolve operational issues.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as OEE, yield, scrap rate, and labor efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in strategic planning and support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process innovations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum 5–7years in a plastic manufacturing environment with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming).
- Familiarity with production planning systems (ERP/MRP) and manufacturing metrics.
- Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 9001, GMP, etc.).
- Skills:
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production software tools.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing floor environment; requires standing, walking, and exposure to noise and heat.
- Occasional weekend or off-shift work may be required.
