Job Description
The Procurement Lead for Dangote Cement Transport is responsible for managing all procurement activities related to transportation, ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of haulage services. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for transportation that enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with transport vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to improve service delivery.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to align procurement with delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and quality standards.
- Provide reports on procurement activities and performance metrics to senior management.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments and external suppliers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within the transportation or cement industry.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
