Job Summary
- The Accounting Advisor uses professional concepts to resolve routine accounting entry issues within a limited scope. Performs monthly accounting close activities focused on less risky countries, under direction of more senior staff.
Responsibilities
Non-Standard Deal Review
Month End Close
- Prepares basic preparation of post journal entries with guidance from senior accounting staff
- Preforms flux analysis under direction of more senior staff
- Supports reconciliation preparation with guidance from senior Accounting staff
Operations
- Generate and ensure timely dispatch of customer invoices
- Review of new customer contracts and ensure billing is done accurately
- Invoicing of newly provisioned services, upgrades, downgrades and price reviews
- Validation and posting of recurrent invoices
- Confirmation of invoice delivery
Disclosures and External Reporting
- Supports in preparing any additional regional disclosures needed for SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission) reporting
Management Reporting
- Prepares basic month end management reporting within a limited scope
- Preparation of ad hoc reports
- Monthly reporting of revenue
Business Partnering
- Partners with upstream data owners, internal and external auditors, and Global Process Manager to solve basic accounting matters
Process Improvement
- As needed, may participate in routine project work
Technical Accounting
- Understands general accounting principles when accounting for transactions
- Preparation and recording of accounting entries in the general ledger system
- Ensures the integrity of general ledger postings
- Monthly reconciliation of deferred revenue
Other duties consistent with the role as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- A degree in Accounting or related field is required.
- 1-2 years' experience preferred
- Candidates with ICAN/ACCA certifications would be at an advantage
