We are seeking a reliable and experienced Winder Operator to join our Process Department in Sagamu.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating the winding machine used in the paper or packaging production line.
This role requires attention to detail, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to monitor and adjust machine operations to ensure consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate the winder machine to convert jumbo rolls into smaller, usable rolls according to production specifications.
Monitor winding parameters such as tension, speed, and roll alignment.
Inspect finished rolls for quality, ensuring proper edge alignment, winding consistency, and label accuracy.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major faults to the maintenance team.
Ensure accurate documentation of production data, including roll sizes, production time, and material usage.
Follow safety procedures and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience operating winding machines in a manufacturing or process environment (preferably paper, film, textile, or corrugation industries).
B.Sc. / HND / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
Good understanding of machine operations and troubleshooting.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends if required.
