Job Summary
- We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facility Support Staff member to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities.
- This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for our employees and visitors.
- The Facility Support Staff will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including basic maintenance, cleaning support, setting up meeting spaces, and assisting with general facility needs.
- The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to providing excellent support.
Responsibilities
Basic Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and report them to the supervisor.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or maintenance work, as needed.
Cleaning and Tidiness:
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, including common areas, restrooms, and offices. This may involve light cleaning duties, ensuring trash is emptied, and restocking supplies.
- Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers, safely and efficiently.
- Ensure that all cleaning products are used in accordance with safety guidelines.
Supply Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory of facility supplies (e.g., cleaning materials, paper goods, stationery) and inform the supervisor when restocking is required.
- Assist with the ordering and receiving of supplies.
- Ensure that supplies are stored in an organized and accessible manner.
Security and Safety:
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment by reporting any safety hazards or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and assist with evacuations if necessary.
- Monitor facility access and report any suspicious activity.
- General Support.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Respond to requests and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of work performed.
Other Duties:
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facility Manager or supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar support role is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., email, Microsoft Office) are a plus.
