Job Summary




  • We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facility Support Staff member to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities.

  • This role is crucial in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for our employees and visitors.

  • The Facility Support Staff will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including basic maintenance, cleaning support, setting up meeting spaces, and assisting with general facility needs.

  • The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to providing excellent support.



Responsibilities

Basic Maintenance and Repairs:




  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and report them to the supervisor.

  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs or maintenance work, as needed.



Cleaning and Tidiness:




  • Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, including common areas, restrooms, and offices. This may involve light cleaning duties, ensuring trash is emptied, and restocking supplies.

  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers, safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure that all cleaning products are used in accordance with safety guidelines.



Supply Management:




  • Monitor and maintain inventory of facility supplies (e.g., cleaning materials, paper goods, stationery) and inform the supervisor when restocking is required.

  • Assist with the ordering and receiving of supplies.

  • Ensure that supplies are stored in an organized and accessible manner.



Security and Safety:




  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment by reporting any safety hazards or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.

  • Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures and assist with evacuations if necessary.

  • Monitor facility access and report any suspicious activity.

  • General Support.



Communication:




  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external vendors in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Respond to requests and inquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Maintain clear and accurate records of work performed.



Other Duties:




  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Facility Manager or supervisor.



Qualifications and Skills




  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar support role is an advantage.

  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

  • Basic computer skills (e.g., email, Microsoft Office) are a plus.
