Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities within the facility, with a strategic focus on cost optimization, asset reliability, and operational efficiency. This role requires a proactive leader capable of anticipating maintenance needs, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and minimizing downtime while ensuring budget discipline and continuous improvement in equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage a cost-efficient maintenance strategy that emphasizes proactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life cycles.
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize maintenance activities in alignment with production requirements and business objectives.
- Monitor, control, and report on maintenance budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, compliance, or operational effectiveness.
- Implement and manage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, equipment history, spare parts inventory, and maintenance KPIs.
- Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance records to identify trends, root causes of recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance best practices.
- Oversee procurement, inventory management, and cost control of spare parts, tools, and materials.
- Lead failure investigations and corrective action initiatives to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, HSE regulations, and statutory maintenance standards.
- Train and develop the maintenance team, promoting skills development and proactive work attitudes.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership role, preferably downstream oil & gas (Depot Management)
- Strong background in proactive maintenance systems (CMMS, Predictive Maintenance).
- Proven experience in maintenance budgeting and cost control.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Solid understanding of HSE regulations, operational risk management, and asset reliability principles.
Preferred Competencies:
- Certifications in maintenance management (e.g. CMRP, CRE, or equivalent) an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to foster a proactive, cost-conscious, and performance-driven team culture.
