Job Summary




  • We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. 

  • He/she is expected to oversee the daily financial transactions, reconciliations, and the preparation of financial and management reports. 

  • Responsibilities also include managing PAYE, pensions, NSITF, and other statutory payments, training junior accountants, overseeing vendor contracts, processing petty cash, controlling expenses, and leading regulatory audits.This role requires a hands 0n professional with strong leadership abilities and experience in a manufacturing or FCMG environment.



Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:




  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Analyze financial performance, and provide recommendations for improvement.



Budgeting and Forecasting:




  • Develop and manage the annual budget with department heads.

  • Monitor performance against the budget, providing variance analysis.



Accounting Functions:




  • Oversee daily operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.

  • Ensure accurate recording of transactions per accounting principles.



Cash Flow Management:




  • Monitor cash flow to maintain operational liquidity.

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and ensure sufficient working capital.



Cost Control and Profitability:




  • Conduct cost analysis to ensure cost efficiency.

  • Identify areas to enhance profitability and reduce waste.



Compliance and Audits:




  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and coordinate annual audits.

  • Implement audit recommendations.



Internal Controls:




  • Develop internal controls to protect assets and prevent fraud.

  • Review and streamline financial processes for accuracy and efficiency.



Team Management:




  • Supervise, mentor, and provide training to junior accounting staff.

  • Lead the finance team to achieve departmental goals.



Strategic Planning:




  • Provide financial insights for strategic planning with senoior management.

  • Analyze market conditions to inform business strategy.



Education, Qualification and Experience




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.

  • Professional qualification will be considered a plus.



Requirement and Skills:




  • Proven experience as a Financial Manager.

  • Experience in the financial sector with previous possible roles such as financial analyst.

  • Ability to use Excel fuctions

  • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.

  • Proficient user of finance software.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.

  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
