Job Summary:

The Habanero Pepper Farm Attendant is responsible for assisting in the cultivation, care, and harvesting of habanero peppers in open-field conditions. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks under varying weather conditions. The attendant supports overall field productivity and ensures that habanero crops are grown and harvested to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of planting beds, soil conditioning, and transplanting of habanero seedlings


• Maintain proper spacing, weeding, pruning, and staking of pepper plants


• Monitor plant health and report signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies


• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation as directed by the farm manager


• Harvest mature habanero peppers by hand, ensuring minimal damage to plants and produce


• Sort, grade, and pack harvested peppers according to quality standards


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and field areas


• Operate basic agricultural tools and machinery safely (e.g., hoes, hand sprayers, tillers)


• Follow all farm safety guidelines and hygiene practices, especially when handling produce


• Record daily work activities and report progress to the supervisor

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in vegetable farming or horticulture preferred, especially in pepper or similar crops


• Ability to perform outdoor physical labor for extended periods, including bending, kneeling, and lifting


• Basic knowledge of crop care, pest management, and field irrigation systems


• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions


• Willingness to work in hot, humid, and sometimes wet weather conditions

Working Conditions:

• Outdoor field work in direct sun, varying temperatures, and seasonal weather conditions


• Work hours may vary depending on crop cycle and weather, with longer hours during peak harvest times


• Tasks involve repetitive motion and standing or bending for extended periods
