We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Medical Officer with Cardiology Experience to join our dynamic healthcare team in Ikoyi, Lagos. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in internal medicine, with hands-on experience in cardiology-focused clinical settings. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and managing cardiovascular and general medical conditions in collaboration with senior specialists, while upholding the highest standards of patient care.



Key Responsibilities




  • Conduct detailed patient assessments, clinical consultations, and cardiology-focused diagnostic evaluations.

  • Manage both general medical cases and cardiology-related conditions under the supervision of Consultant Cardiologists.

  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacological interventions and lifestyle modifications.

  • Participate actively in cardiology outpatient clinics, ward rounds, emergency cardiac care, and follow-up care.

  • Perform and interpret cardiac investigations including ECGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.

  • Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies and initiate life-saving interventions when necessary.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using EMR systems.

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior doctors, interns, and medical students.

  • Ensure strict adherence to hospital protocols, medical ethics, and MDCN regulations.

  • Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives and case reviews.

  • Participate in ongoing clinical research and continuous professional development.



Qualifications and Requirements




  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.

  • Full registration and current license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

  • Minimum of 4–6 years of post-qualification clinical experience, with at least 2 years in a cardiology or cardiovascular care setting.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are mandatory.

  • Proficient in managing high-acuity patients in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

  • Strong diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to ethical practice and patient-centered care.



Key Competencies




  • Proficiency in interpreting cardiac diagnostics (ECG, Echo, Stress Testing).

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional healthcare teams.

  • Ability to educate patients and their families on heart-related conditions and lifestyle adjustments.

  • Sound understanding of medical quality assurance practices and clinical governance.
