Job Summary:
- The core responsibilities will include closely managing housekeeping, laundry services, transport, administration, portering and contractor oversight. The ideal candidate must be capable of working across departments to ensure the school operates smoothly and efficiently, with a strong emphasis on Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) compliance and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Primary Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Cleaning (external contractor):
- Oversee campus-wide cleaning operations, ensuring high standards in academic, residential, and public areas.
- Conduct routine inspections and liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure quality control.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and site audits to ensure compliance with service agreements.
- Liaise with and supervise external cleaning contractors, escalating service issues and support re-tendering or procurement as needed.
- Procurement and management of stock, including cleaning supplies and residential furniture.
2. Staff & Student Laundry Services:
- Ensure the efficient operation of the staff and student laundry, serving approximately 200 residential staff and students.
- Develop and maintain processes for sorting, cleaning, and returning staff and student laundry in a timely and accountable manner.
- Oversee hygiene compliance and laundry equipment maintenance.
3. Transport Management:
- Line manages the Transport Supervisor.
- Ensure the safe and efficient running of school transport for students, staff, and logistical needs.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance, route planning, driver schedules, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and staff regarding transport provision.
4. Administration Oversight:
- Lead a team of administrative staff, including Personal Assistants (PAs), the Boutique Supervisor and Welcome Centre Administrator.
- Ensure high-quality front-of-house services at the Welcome Centre.
- Supervise the School Shop (Boutique), maintaining stock levels, presentation standards, and customer service quality, liaising with the School Uniform providers in a proactive and timely manner.
- Drive consistent administrative processes and service standards across the school.
5. Portering & Campus Logistics:
- In conjunction with the Procurement team, coordinate portering services for internal moves, events, and deliveries.
- Allocate and manage resources for special setups or urgent tasks.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Promote and uphold HSE standards across all operations.
- Support and participate in risk assessments, safety audits, and incident reporting procedures.
- Ensure all Campus Operations staff follow safe working practices.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Degree or professional qualification in hospitality, business, or facilities management.
- Experience in operations, facilities, or service delivery management.
- Strong knowledge of or willingness to train in HSE protocols.
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Minimum of 5 years of Experience in international school or residential settings.
- Knowledge of HSE compliance and operational risk management.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar HSE certification.
- Conflict resolution or negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, administrative, and organisational skills.
- Strong leadership and people management across functional teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with tact and professionalism.
- Deep understanding of customer service and presentation standards.
