Position Overview
- Our client is a chain of successful business entities that are on the verge of becoming a Holding Group. Part of the SBUs is the Facility Management (FM) division, which the Management is pivoting to operate independently,
- grow and expand as a standalone business, hence the need for a General Manager.
- This is a strategic leadership role responsible for establishing, scaling and leading a new facilities management business line. This includes building the operating model, systems, and teams from the ground up, while identifying and executing growth opportunities that drive profitability and long-term enterprise value.
- The ideal candidate is both a visionary and hands-on operator capable of developing infrastructure and service delivery capabilities, while also shaping commercial strategy and client acquisition efforts. He/She will lay the foundation for a high-performance facilities business that delivers exceptional operational standards, customer satisfaction, and financial returns.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish the facilities management business
- Define the vision, structure, operating model, service offerings, and value proposition.
- Lead the development of key infrastructure, processes, and systems for facilities operations, including compliance, safety, technology, and quality assurance.
- Drive commercial growth by developing go-to-market strategy, identify new business opportunities, and build client relationships across key sectors.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high performing multidisciplinary team covering operations, engineering, customer service and support functions.
- Design and implement performance measurement systems, cost control practices, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive leadership to align the facilities business with broader corporate goals and investment plans.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 18 years’ experience with at least 8 years in a senior executive role with proven experience launching or scaling a business or business unit.
- Strong commercial mindset with experience in P&L ownership, business development, and client management.
- Deep understanding of facilities operations, compliance, quality systems, and service delivery models.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects from inception to scale.
- Experience with facilities management technologies and smart building solutions is a plus.
