Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator and Automobile Engineer to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel-powered generators and vehicles. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems across a range of power and vehicle models. This role requires an in-depth understanding of engine systems, routine service procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in gasoline and diesel engines used in both generators and automobiles.
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on portable, standby, and industrial generators.
- Conduct repairs on various automobile systems including engines, fuel injection systems, transmissions, braking systems, and cooling systems.
- Install and test generator systems including wiring, transfer switches, and control panels.
- Calibrate and test engines using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Maintain service records, inspection reports, and equipment logs.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Work both in the field and in the workshop as needed.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians if required.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
- 3+ years of experience in generator and/or automobile repair and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with both gasoline and diesel engines is mandatory.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines, fuel systems, alternators, starter motors, and control circuits.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Familiarity with major generator brands (e.g., Perkins, Cummins, Honda, FG Wilson, etc.) and automotive systems.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Generator Maintenance or Automotive Systems (e.g., ASE, OEM Training).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic understanding of electrical codes and standards.
Working Conditions:
- May require travel to client sites or remote locations.
- May involve lifting, climbing, or working in tight or outdoor environments.
- Weekend or emergency on-call work may be required.
