Role Overview



We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Inspection Engineer to join our technical operations team. This role is crucial for ensuring the high-quality installation and maintenance of network services at customer locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, hands-on problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.



This position is ideal for individuals with experience in ISP or telecommunications environments who are ready to work in a dynamic field setting and represent the company with professionalism and technical expertise.



Key Responsibilities



Installation and Configuration




  • Perform on-site installations and configurations of internet services, including routers, modems, switches, and other networking devices.

  • Adhere to technical standards and installation protocols to ensure optimal service delivery.

  • Test and verify internet speed, reliability, and connectivity performance.

  • Educate customers on the use and upkeep of installed equipment.



Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution




  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues and equipment malfunctions.

  • Respond promptly to customer service requests with effective technical solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Network Operations and Technical Support to resolve escalated issues.

  • Maintain accurate logs of service visits and technical interventions.



Customer Interaction and Support




  • Communicate professionally with customers during installation and troubleshooting visits.

  • Translate technical information into clear, user-friendly explanations.

  • Recommend improvements or upgrades based on customer needs and best practices.

  • Work with sales and account managers to capture feedback and identify upselling opportunities.



Quality Assurance and Compliance




  • Ensure all installations meet internal standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct audits and follow-ups on completed installations to ensure service quality.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and evolving technologies to enhance service delivery.



Qualifications and Skills




  • High school diploma required; technical certification or degree in a relevant field is a plus.

  • Proven experience with network installations in an ISP or telecommunications setting.

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and equipment (routers, switches, modems, cabling).

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and using diagnostic tools.

  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites.

  • Physical ability to lift and install networking equipment.
