Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to discuss desired cake designs and cake decorating ideas for speciality cakes


• Design and decorate cakes according to customers' specifications


• Produce different kinds of icing, frosting, and cake fillings based on cake type and customer preferences


• Keep up to date with the latest trends in both flavors and aesthetic appeal


• Supervise and ensure that all decorating utensils and equipment are properly maintained


• Adhere to health and safety regulations by maintaining product freshness and sanitation


• Manage and apply creativity into decoration of cakes


• Coordinating and handling decoration of all cakes which include fondant, buttercream, butter icing, cupcakes and desserts


• Take inventory of baking and decorating supplies and liase with the store manager to order new stock as required.


• Conduct training for students and interns when necessary.


• Craft flowers and every other accessory for the decoration of a cake.


• Decorate regular bakery items according to established bakery standards.


• Ensure that the display refrigerators are cleaned, polished, and fully stocked with cakes, frostings, and desserts and keeping the work station clean.


• Dutifully discharging responsibility as assigned by the Operations Manager and Creative Director.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree / HND with 1 - 2 years relevant experience


• Experience in cake decorating or completion of a relevant training program is preferred.


• Strong artistic ability and creativity in cake design.


• Knowledge of different icing and frosting techniques.


• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.


• Good communication and customer service skills.


• High attention to detail and a passion for baking and decorating.

Other Requirements:

• Must live very close to Bodija, Ibadan.


• Work hours are 8:30am to 6pm daily with 30 mins break.
