Summary




  • The Cashier is responsible for managing all customer transactions at the point of sale in an accurate, efficient, and friendly manner.

  • This role plays a key part in delivering a positive shopping experience, ensuring proper handling of payments, and maintaining financial accuracy in a fast-paced retail environment.



Key Responsibilities




  • Process sales transactions quickly and accurately using the POS system.

  • Handle cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, and refunds in line with company policies.

  • Issue receipts, gift cards, and invoices to customers as required.

  • Ensure the cash register is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Assist customers with basic product inquiries or direct them to sales staff when needed.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional checkout area.

  • Collaborate with the sales and inventory teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Report discrepancies, suspicious transactions, or system issues to management promptly.

  • Follow all security, financial, and customer service procedures.

  • Support stocktaking, packaging, and occasional floor assistance when required.



Requirements




  • Minimum of SSCE / OND qualification; additional training in retail or finance is a plus

  • At least 1 year previous experience as a cashier or in a customer-facing role preferred

  • Familiarity with gadgets, electronics, or phone accessories is an advantage

  • Willingness to work weekends as needed.
