Job Summary




  • Proactively Performs Network Fulfilment Activities.

  • Highlights issues and drives resolution when required.

  • Acts as a mentor and technical coach for NSD Engineer I. 



Responsibilities

Network Fulfilment:




  • A working knowledge of DWDM, Metro Ethernet transmission and must have undergone a basic training in optical and wireless networks with a focus on SDH/OTN/IP transmission standards/protocols

  • Good understanding of telecommunications/engineering principles, transmission, and access networks, IP networks, metro Ethernet, etc.

  • Basic knowledge of IP and IP-related Technology and protocols such as BGP, MPLS, and DNS, etc.

  • Basic knowledge of the Ivorian telecommunication market and/or experience working in a telecommunications environment

  • Ability to interpret topography, network design maps and AutoCAD Designs/and or Visio app

  • Ability to use E-Analyser, SDH Analyser and other signal testing tools/instruments and diverse bandwidth test apps



Problem Solving/Assessment:




  • Determines and applies appropriate methodologies and tools for analyzing a range of standard, functional and/or cross-functional issues

  • Helps identify process gaps and issues

  • Dynamic forward thinking to ensure customers are not impacted by process/technical failures

  • Determines and utilises appropriate methodology, including Lean Six Sigma, where appropriate



Release Management:




  • Obtains, creates, and documents business requirements, engaging multiple stakeholders

  • Supports and manages cross-functional BRDs

  • Works with the BSA's and Dev team on solution design and development

  • Reviews functional design (FD)

  • Partners with stakeholders to analyse, define and document business processes within and across functional areas

  • Utilizes Lean Six Sigma methodology, supporting the design or improvement of business processes

  • Assist in performing user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • May be responsible for ensuring UAT is fully planned and executed

  • Assess testing progress

  • Updates process and procedural documentation

  • Completes post-deployment analysis



Project Management:




  • Supports project plans and resources, helping to ensure resources are in the right place at the right time

  • Works with stakeholders to gain alignment through the implementation and post-implementation stages

  • Communicates team progress

  • Applies appropriate project management skills and best practices including Lean Six Sigma

  • Helps identify risks and issues



Reporting and Metrics:




  • Status reporting providing periodic project updates, highlighting risks, issues and concerns

  • Performs ad-hoc reporting



CSI:




  • Takes part in cross-functional discussions to drive issues, challenges and prioritisation efforts

  • Updates the CSI and Issues logs, ensuring the relevant detail is provided

  • Develops CSI opportunities for the wider team to review



Qualifications




  • Bachelor's Degree Or Equivalent Experience

  • Proven years of work experience in the configuration, operations and maintenance of optical fiber, Metro Ethernet, SDH/OTN equipment
