We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of goods and services essential to our logistics and transportation operations.
The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of quality materials, spare parts, and services to support fleet operations, port activities, and inland haulage.
Job Responsibilities
Source and evaluate suppliers for shipping, transport, and maintenance-related materials.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements with vendors.
Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company policy.
Track deliveries and ensure timely supply of critical parts and equipment.
Maintain and update the approved supplier database.
Collaborate with fleet, workshop, and warehouse teams to forecast material needs.
Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and regulatory standards.
Assist in vendor performance evaluations and contract renewals.
Prepare regular reports on purchase history, pricing, and supplier performance
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
3-5 years experience in procurement, preferably in logistics or shipping.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Knowledge of transport logistics, vehicle spare parts, and marine materials is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
