Job Requirements

• Minimum Required Experience: Minimum of 1year work experience in a printing industry.


• Qualifications: OND/SSCE or equivalent in Printing Technology or Related Discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operating & Process Control:

• The Operator will operate post press machines in addition to execution of quality control checks and analyses.


• Recording waste and movement of product on the appropriate documentation or information systems. Review trends to identify & resolve problems.


• Carrying out the required quality checks and analyses and recording the results on the appropriate information system


• Actively participate in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions. Making use of the action logs to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities.


• Fully understand the team dream and contribute in achieving it


• Make use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues


• Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality and maintenance are communicated.


• Plans and performs preventive and breakdown maintenance activities. 


• Ensures maximum uptime and throughput of machines. 


• Ensures adequate working environment i.e. power, temperature, humidity etc.

Quality Auditing:

• Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation and communicating the results


• Review quality analysis procedures of shift based teams, identifying problems or training needs and communicating these to the team leader


• Conduct regular audits of calibration procedures of shift based production teams and communicating results


• Conduct audits of analytic procedures to ensure compliance and identifying corrective actions required


• Where required, initiate corrective actions coming out of the quality audits in areas that impacts production. Communicate effectively in teams


• Contribute to self and team development.

Problem Solving:

• Support the shift based production teams in problem solving, providing specialist assistance and techniques


• Coach, mentor and assist shift based production teams on problem solving and correct use of problem solving techniques. 

Continuous Improvement:

• Carry out specialized analyses in support of the evaluation of continuous improvement opportunities


• Determine additional analytical work required evaluating continuous improvement opportunities


• Take part in departmental  process optimization initiatives as required
