Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation:
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients under the direction of the chefs or cooks.
Assembly and Plating:
- Support in assembling and plating dishes according to specified standards and presentation guidelines. Ensure dishes are ready for service, delivery, or pickup.
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment at all times. Regularly wash dishes, clean utensils, wipe down surfaces, and follow food safety protocols.
Stock Management:
- Organize and rotate food stock and kitchen supplies. Notify the chef or kitchen supervisor when items are running low or near expiration.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Use kitchen equipment safely and report any malfunctions or damage immediately. Assist with basic upkeep of tools and appliances.
Waste Management:
- Properly dispose of kitchen waste, including food scraps and packaging, in line with safety and recycling guidelines.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Be proactive in taking on additional tasks as needed.
