Job Description
Job Purpose:
- To tackle all breakdown on time, solving problems and reporting unresolved activities/issues to the Instrumentation Engineer. Ensure minimum downtime.
Reporting Relationships:
- Reports to Instrumentation/Engineering Manager
Dimensions:
To tackle all instrument breakdowns on his shift.
- To liaise with outgoing/incoming shift technicians the state of plants.
- To ensure maximum utilization of electricians.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety at work.
- Liaise with day shift electrical technicians and electrical engineer.
- Carry out other assignments that may arise from time to time.
- The provision of on-the-job training for all subordinate staff.
- The control and discipline of subordinate staff.
- To inform the subordinates of their job responsibilities and systematically appraise the levels of their performance on their jobs.
- To communicate effectively with other supervisors on matters of organizational interest.
- Advising immediate boss on up-to-date developments in one's areas of responsibilities.
Principal Accountabilities:
- To ensure minimum disruption to production.
- To ensure correct handover procedure resulting in exact control.
- Gainful employment of subordinates.
- Organised housekeeping.
- Correctly reporting state of affairs of Electronics machines
- No failure to carry out such assignment.
- All subordinate staff is trained on the job to possess adequate knowledge, skill and attitude for effectiveness on their present and other related jobs in their sections.
- All subordinates understand the importance of safe working conditions, able to effectively use firefighting and first-aid equipment when necessary.
- No serious breach of discipline of industrial unrest through failure to implement group personnel policies.
- All subordinates have agreed job descriptions upon which their levels of performance are accessed in accordance with group procedures.
- No obvious failure due to defective liaison.
- No failure to advise management about changes or developments as they occur.

KEY ATTRIBUTES
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY (OH&S)
Key Activities:
- To be aware of the hazards in the workplace within his control, and the control measures to reduce the risk associated with those hazards.
- Achieve 85% of action closure arising from monthly HSE inspection.
- Achieve 95% compliance with behaviour-based safety (BBS) walk around.
- Train 65% of the workforce on safety awareness.
ENVIROMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) OBJECTIVES
Key Activities:
- Understand roles and responsibilities and the importance of conformity with the EMS requirements.
- Implements and complies with EMS requirements relating to environmental aspects and impacts and other policies, procedures and /or regulations applicable to assigned jobs.
UALITY AND PLAN COMPLIANCE DELIVERY: GMP
Key Activities:
Ensure that manufacturing operation meets stipulated GMP
Key Accountability:
To have a good knowledge of GMP requirements and application on site in line with GMP standard (PZC GMP standard/NAFDAC requirements)
QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS) OBJECTIVES: (QMS)
Key Accountability:
- To ensure the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and improve on the system.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
- To work with other staff continually to improve performance while adhering to legislative and company standards.
- To work closely as a team with the line manager and other leaders as to deliver set objectives
Qualification, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Needed:
Required Qualifications:
- OND/HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Software Knowledge
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar position
- Ability to withstand stress and work under pressure
