Our client, a leading all-in-one fraud and compliance platform for financial institutions and fintech, is looking for a smart, detail-oriented, and driven individual to join their team as a Legal and Compliance Executive. This role is ideal for someone early in their legal or compliance career who has strong research and writing skills, an interest in regulatory frameworks, and a desire to help shape compliance strategy from the ground up. You will support the legal and compliance team across a wide range of activities, from regulatory research to preparing internal documentation and contributing to thought leadership. 



Responsibilities



Regulatory Research




  • Conduct research on laws, regulations, guidelines, and industry practices affecting our company and clients.

  • Track regulatory updates and summarize key implications for internal teams.



Legal and Compliance Writing




  • Assist in drafting compliance policies, procedures, and internal guides.

  • Prepare briefing notes, research summaries, and regulatory insights for internal use and client education.



Compliance Support




  • Assist in documenting and reviewing internal compliance frameworks.

  • Help prepare templates and checklists used by customer success and onboarding teams.

  • Support the compliance team in risk assessments and gap analysis exercises.



Cross-team Collaboration




  • Work with product, sales, and customer success teams to ensure legal and compliance requirements are considered in decision-making.

  • Support in preparing content for newsletters, presentations, and workshops.



Qualifications




  • A law degree (LL.B or equivalent) or strong academic background in law, public policy, or a related field.

  • 0–3 years of work experience in legal, regulatory, or compliance roles (internship or NYSC experience acceptable).

  • Interest in compliance, financial regulation, fintech, or regtech.

  • Familiarity with the Nigerian regulatory environment (e.g., CBN, SEC, NFIU) is a plus.

  • Exposure to AML/CFT frameworks or regulatory tech.

  • Experience with legal writing, blogging, or publishing in any form.



Must have skills




  • Clear communication style and attention to detail.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks under guidance.

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
