Job Overview
- As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of energy projects.
- You will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical specifications, deadlines, and budget requirements.
- This role offers exposure to a diverse range of projects, including renewable energy systems (solar, wind, and battery storage) and conventional power generation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Support:
- Assist in preparing project proposals, technical documentation, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies under supervision.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop project plans.
Technical Coordination:
- Perform basic calculations and analyses for energy projects.
- Support the design and review of energy systems, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather technical information and ensure alignment with project goals.
Project Execution:
- Monitor project progress and update schedules in collaboration with the project manager.
- Assist in coordinating on-site activities and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.
- Document project milestones and prepare progress reports.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to resolve technical and logistical issues.
- Participate in project meetings and present findings or updates.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance project workflows, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in energy systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline).
- Previous experience as a project engineer with electrical engineering experience or in a similar role (5 to 10 years)
- Knowledge of conventional and renewable energy systems (solar, wind, thermal, etc.) is a plus.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of project management principles (knowledge of tools like MS Project is a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
- EIT (Engineer in Training) Certification.
- Familiarity with energy standards such as ASME, IEEE, or ISO standards.
