Job Overview




  • We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to help strengthen our financial foundation as we scale.

  • We are looking for a meticulous, experienced, and compliance-oriented Senior Accountant to lead key financial operations.

  • You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks (including the Financial Reporting Council Act), adherence to international accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal auditing processes.



Key Responsibilities




  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and the Financial Reporting Council Act of Nigeria.

  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger and reconciled in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, PAYE, CIT, etc.) in line with Nigerian tax laws.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensure readiness of audit schedules, and implement post-audit recommendations.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial modeling.

  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures in line with global best practices.

  • Stay up-to-date with evolving financial regulations, standards, and tax laws; ensure organizational compliance.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, tax authorities, and external auditors as required.

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring knowledge transfer and process consistency.



Required Qualifications & Skills




  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • ICAN, ACCA, or other recognized professional accounting certification (required).

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in financial services or a regulated industry.

  • Strong working knowledge of IFRS, the Financial Reporting Council Act, and Nigerian tax laws.

  • Demonstrated experience managing audits and implementing financial controls.

  • High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP platforms) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to professional ethics.
