An opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Power Plant Engineer to join a dynamic operations team overseeing the maintenance and performance of a large-scale power generation facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with gas and diesel generators, preventive maintenance, and energy optimization.

Job Description:

• Implement preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all  Jen Bacher gas generators and diesel generators as well as auto synchronization system between Gas & diesel sets as well as amongst Gas & diesel Sets. Ensuring appropriate load shedding & load sharing as well as timely and effective execution of agreed preventive maintenance activities to eliminate unplanned outage.


• Manages the day-to-day mix of gas generation and diesel generation operations to deliver the optimum energy costing.


• Leads the team to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical failures with generators, transfer switches. 


• Replaces mechanical and oil seals and air compressors; inspects valves, injection pumps, injectors and related components as per PM schedule to ensure reliability and availability of power systems.


• Analyse various power sources and benchmark results with industry standards to track variations and or deviations to ensure that right power quality is delivered to the plant.


• Accountable for the accurate reporting and tracking of energy consumption, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
