Job Summary
- The Hospital Front Desk Officer is the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and healthcare providers.
- This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and ensuring seamless communication between patients, families, and hospital staff.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Registration:
- Greet patients, visitors, and healthcare providers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Register patients, verify insurance information, and obtain necessary consent.
- Ensure accurate and complete patient demographic information.
Scheduling Appointments:
- Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and other departments to ensure availability.
Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns.
- Resolve patient complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare providers, and hospital staff.
- Ensure seamless communication between departments and teams.
Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
- Accurately enter patient information into hospital systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Assist customers/patients with their transactions and reports
Security and Emergency Procedures:
- Follow hospital security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Report any security concerns or incidents to management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 2-7 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of hospital software systems.
Work Environment:
- Front office setting with frequent interaction with patients, visitors, and healthcare providers.
- May require working evenings, weekends, or holidays.
