Job Description
The Trader will be responsible for executing buying and selling activities of commodities within the corporate office and relevant trading zones. This includes supporting logistics, pricing decisions, and documentation of trade contracts. The role also involves maintaining good relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless commodity flow and profitability.
Job Details
- Execute trading plans for specific commodities as directed by the trading lead.
- Support the development and execution of procurement and sales strategies.
- Work with supply chain and warehouse teams to track commodity movements and inventory.
- Monitor price trends and advise on optimal trading times.
- Participate in contract negotiation and ensure accurate documentation.
- Reconcile daily and weekly trade data for reporting purposes.
- Build and manage a portfolio of buyers and sellers within the ecosystem.
- Liaise with finance team to ensure prompt payments and collections.
- Track and analyze trade margins, costs, and returns.
- Contribute to compliance checks and regulatory trade submissions.
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commodity trading, commercial operations, or financial markets.
- Exposure to agricultural commodities is an added advantage.
- Understanding of trade documentation, invoicing, and logistics coordination.
- Knowledge of pricing trends, market structures, and trade margins.
Skills:
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
