Job Summary




  • We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Foreman with proven expertise in road construction, particularly in earthworks, asphalt paving, and alignment.

  • The ideal candidate will supervise and actively participate in daily site operations to ensure the project is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications.



Key Responsibilities




  • Supervise and participate in all aspects of road construction including earthworks, site grading, road alignment, drainage installation, and asphalt paving.

  • Ensure correct implementation of road alignment as per design drawings and specifications.

  • Oversee preparation of the roadbed, including excavation, compaction, and sub-base formation.

  • Manage and direct asphalt (alphat) laying operations, ensuring quality and uniformity of pavement.

  • Coordinate daily activities of construction crews, equipment operators, and subcontractors.

  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and implement solutions promptly.

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, material usage, equipment deployment, and workforce attendance.

  • Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior staff and laborers.

  • Report regularly to Site or Project Manager on site status and any challenges faced.

  • Assist with resource planning and scheduling to meet project deadlines.



Person Specification

Qualifications:




  • ND / HND.

  • Vocational training or certifications in civil engineering or construction management is an advantage.



Experience:




  • Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience as a foreman in road construction projects.

  • Demonstrated expertise in earthworks (cutting, filling, compaction), asphalt paving, and road alignment.

  • Proven ability to supervise construction crews and deliver projects on schedule and within quality standards.



Technical Skills:




  • Proficient in interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications related to road construction.

  • Knowledgeable in operating or coordinating the use of construction machinery such as graders, bulldozers, compactors, and asphalt pavers.

  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, compaction techniques, and asphalt laying processes.
