Job Description







  • You’ll be responsible for designing financial systems, building robust models, tracking key financial and operational metrics, and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.

  • You will work closely with the CEO, functional leads, and external partners to drive financial performance and transparency.



Responsibilities




  • Own the financial strategy and long-term financial planning process.

  • Build and maintain robust financial models, forecasts, and budgets.

  • Track key financial and operational metrics to inform decision-making.

  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Lead the development of managerial accounts and financial reporting systems.

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and audit requirements.

  • Design and implement financial policies, internal controls, and risk management processes.

  • Ensure financial discipline and transparency across the organization.

  • Establish procurement, expense, and financial approval processes.

  • Oversee capital management initiatives, including fundraising and optimizing capital structure, to fuel ambitious growth.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with investors, financial institutions, and partners.

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for donors and funding partners.

  • Manage financial aspects of donor and grant-funded projects, including budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting.

  • Grooming and managing the finance team while collaborating with key other Team Managers



Qualifications




  • 8-10 years of experience in finance, ideally with a blend of startup, agriculture, or tech

  • experience.

  • Proven experience developing and managing financial models and forecasts.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and the Nigerian tax and regulatory environment.

  • Deep understanding of unit economics, cost optimisation, and pricing strategies.

  • Proven track record managing donor funds and preparing grant financial reports (e.g., for

  • foundations, bilateral/multilateral agencies, or NGOs).

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, ICAN, ACCA, or CFA certification is highly preferred.

  • Experience with managing financial payment and operations software.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Strong leadership(coaching), communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Hands-on experience setting up and managing financial systems, tools, and internal controls in early-stage or scaling environments.
