Role Overview




  • As Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and optimization of all revenue-generating activities at MIM Finance.

  • This includes overseeing sales, business development, loan product growth, customer acquisition, and retention efforts.

  • You will work cross-functionally with internal departments—credit, marketing, product, and tech—to ensure alignment with business objectives, while building and scaling a high-performance commercial team.

  • Your role will also involve market expansion, field operations oversight, and driving sustainable portfolio growth.



Key Responsibilities:



Commercial Strategy & Revenue Ownership




  • Develop and execute integrated commercial strategies that drive loan product uptake, disbursement growth, and profitability.

  • Own company-wide revenue targets and monitor key commercial KPIs across all products and customer segments.



Sales & Field Operations Leadership




  • Lead and expand high-performing sales teams across SME lending, vehicle-backed loans, and other credit products.

  • Design and oversee field deployment strategies in target market clusters (e.g., Mile 12, Alaba, Owode).

  • Build incentive models and performance frameworks to drive sales efficiency and target achievement.



Business Development & Partnerships




  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships with aggregators, employers, agents, and ecosystem partners to expand distribution.

  • Develop institutional lending channels and group-based outreach initiatives.



Product & Market Expansion




  • Collaborate with the product, credit, and tech teams to refine loan offerings based on market trends, customer behavior, and competitor analysis.

  • Drive market research initiatives to inform product innovation and pricing strategy.



Portfolio Management & Performance Oversight




  • Work closely with credit, risk, and collections units to maintain loan book quality while scaling volume.

  • Monitor customer activation, usage, repayment, and churn to guide decision-making.



Cross-Functional Leadership




  • Serve as the commercial voice at the executive table, contributing to business planning and cross-departmental coordination.

  • Ensure strong alignment between marketing campaigns and sales execution.

  • Regularly report commercial performance insights and recommendations to senior leadership.



Qualifications & Requirements




  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial leadership roles within financial services, fintech, or consumer lending.

  • Strong background in sales leadership, field force management, or partnership/channel development.

  • Experience with both B2B and B2C lending models.

  • Track record of hitting and exceeding growth targets in high-volume, high-velocity environments.

  • Deep understanding of the Nigerian lending landscape and regulatory expectations.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic, and people management skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA or relevant master’s degree is an advantage).
