Job Description

• The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks to ensure maximum uptime for users.


• The role will include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.


• You will also provide troubleshooting and configuration support by using your strong technical skills in Linux and Windows environments and IP networking.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, implement, and troubleshoot networks


• Design and support our network systems and infrastructure


• Configure and operate routers and switches


• Monitor network performance and make recommendations based on performance analysis


• Network Engineers will work in-house or be assigned to project management teams working with outside clients.


• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks


• Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP


• Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security


• Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting


• Arranging scheduled upgrades


• Investigating faults in the network


• Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases


• Reporting network status to key stakeholders


• Ability to monitor, and integrate radio, fibre and metro links


• Ability to establish networking monitoring tools such as PRTG, WUG, and similar systems.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a B.Sc in Computer Science or Computer Software / Computer Systems Engineering.


• Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Network Engineer.


• Having a technical background is an added advantage.


• Candidates with professional certification in CCNA or CCNP would be considered first.


• Can manipulate Network Engineering software (BGP, IBGP, MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN Management, VRRP, HSRP, EIGRP, Access List(ACL), IP management, COS, QOS.IPV6 Migration, ASR 9001,9901, ISR4331,ISR2911,ISR194, ASA Firewall, Eion Devices.

Salary

Negotiable based on skill and experience.
