Job Description




  • The National Sales Manager (NSM) is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth across all regions in the country.

  • The NSM oversees regional sales managers, builds and manages a high-performing sales team, identifies new business opportunities, maintains key customer relationships, and ensures alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.



Key Responsibilities




  • Develop and execute national sales strategies aligned with company objectives.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve or exceed sales targets.

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, trends, and market conditions.

  • Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories.

  • Conduct regular reviews with regional sales managers and provide support to resolve operational or customer issues.

  • Expand market presence by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and partnerships.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, finance, and supply chain teams to support sales objectives.

  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.



Education




  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is would be desired.



Experience:




  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in sales, including at least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.

  • Experience in leading regional or national sales teams.

  • Industry-specific experience (e.g., FMCG prefered) may be required depending on the company.



Required Skills:




  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proven ability to develop strategic plans and execute them effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior, and sales processes.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.



Other Requirements:




  • Willingness to travel extensively across regions.

  • High integrity and ethical conduct.

  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.

  • Strong network and understanding of local/regional markets.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
