Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and support the identification and implementation of risk mitigation plans for project-specific security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Deliver security input and assurance in alignment with Opportunity
- Realization Standards (ORS) from Decision Gates 1 through 4.
- Ensure application of security technologies and best industry practices to enhance cost-effective and robust security solutions.
- Monitor physical security measures and ensure their effectiveness in deterring, detecting, delaying, and responding to threats.
- Collaborate with the Bonga FPSO Security Operations Centre to maintain a shared situational awareness and response capability.
- Ensure daily integration with Security Coordinators, Intelligence teams, and Logistics Planning to align on security posture and threat updates.
- Provide direct oversight and assurance on security plans and capabilities of contractors and third-party providers.
- Participate in and drive security drills, simulations, and post-incident reviews with implementation of improvement actions.
- Collaborate with site security teams to maintain vessel readiness, GSA (Government Security Agencies) support, and incident response mechanisms.
- Support development and execution of pre-startup and handoverphase security risk assessments and plans.
- Conduct Level 1 (LOD1) assurance reviews on all project security movements and site activities.
- Ensure compliance with Voluntary Principles on Security and Human
- Rights (VPSHR), and investigate/report violations.
- Prepare security inputs and documentation for cadence and status meetings across project packages
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized institution. A postgraduate degree in security, risk management, or related fields is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as PFSO, PSP, CPP (ASIS), or equivalent are strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in industrial security within the oil & gas sector, preferably offshore/Deepwater.
- Good understanding of upstream oil and gas operations in Nigeria, especially in the Niger Delta and Gulf of Guinea.
- Proven experience in project security risk management and security assurance.
- Knowledge of Group Security Standards, SEAM Framework, and implementation of ALARP principles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional coordination capabilities.
- Ability to manage contractors and interface with government security forces effectively.
- Proficiency in data management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Experience in managing marine or security fleet operations is a plus.
- Strong communication, writing, analytical, and emergency response planning skills.
- Must demonstrate leadership, integrity, and ability to deliver under pressure while upholding the highest safety and security standards.
