About the Role




  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lead Accountant to manage and oversee the accounting operations of our organization. The ideal candidate must be proficient in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, and capable of supervising junior accounting staff. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Ogba, Lagos.



Key Responsibilities




  • Oversee daily accounting operations including payables, receivables, payroll, and bank reconciliations

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Monitor and manage the company’s budget and cash flow

  • Ensure timely remittance and filing of statutory obligations (e.g., PAYE, VAT, Pension, etc.)

  • Maintain and update the general ledger and chart of accounts

  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors and tax authorities

  • Develop and implement internal financial controls and procedures

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff

  • Generate financial reports and provide insights to management for decision-making

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies



Requirements




  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • ICAN or ACCA certification (or in advanced stage of certification) preferred

  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and accounting standards

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of integrity
