  • This role demands precision, integrity, and strategic financial oversight to support the firm’s growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management.

  • Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasting for projects and operations.

Cost & Project Accounting:

  • Track and allocate costs related to real estate projects and construction activities.

  • Maintain accurate job costing and project budgeting reports.

  • Liaise with project managers to ensure alignment between project progress and financial planning.

Regulatory Compliance & Taxation:

  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws (VAT, PAYE, WHT, CIT) and other statutory requirements.

  • Prepare and file returns with relevant tax authorities and regulatory bodies (e.g., FIRS, LIRS).

  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies.

Internal Controls & Systems:

  • Develop and implement effective internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.

  • Maintain organized accounting records and documentation for internal and external review.

  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance with Nigerian labour laws.

Team Leadership & Support:

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

  • Provide financial insights for investment decisions, pricing, and cost-saving strategies.

  • Support the finance department in budgeting, tender documentation, and contract analysis.

Requirements

Education & Certification:

  • B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • ACA, ACCA, or ICAN certification is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in real estate or construction industry.

  • Proven experience with cost accounting and project-based financial reporting.
