The Farm Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the cassava farmstead, ensuring efficient crop production, resource management, and staff supervision.
This role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing all farming activities to maximize productivity, sustainability, and profitability.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations on the cassava farm, including planting, cultivation, and harvesting.
Supervise and manage farm workers to ensure productivity and safety.
Monitor crop growth, soil health, and pest control to ensure a good yield.
Maintain farm equipment and ensure all tools are in good working condition.
Keep records of farming activities, crop performance, and input usage.
Work within budget limits and manage farm resources efficiently.
Ensure compliance with agricultural standards and safety regulations.
Report regularly to management on farm progress and challenges.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Good understanding of farm budgeting, resource planning, and inventory management.
Proficient in using farm management software and basic computer applications (MS Excel, Word, etc.).
Physically fit and comfortable working in a rural/agricultural environment.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
