Job Summary




  • The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all equipment and machinery in the cashew processing plant.

  • The role involves ensuring minimal downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and maintaining safety and compliance with industry standards.



Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair: 




  • To Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

  • Ensure timely troubleshooting and repair of processing machinery, boilers, conveyors, dryers, graders, shelling, peeling, and packaging equipment.

  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and ensure prompt procurement of required components.



Operational Efficiency & Performance:




  • Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.

  • Reduce downtime and improve productivity through continuous equipment optimization.

  • Ensure smooth operations of utility systems like power supply, air compressors, and HVAC systems.



Team Leadership & Training:




  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring adherence to schedules and work assignments.

  • Provide technical training and development programs for maintenance personnel.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.



Health, Safety & Compliance:




  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and food processing standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.

  • Implement and maintain proper safety protocols and maintenance documentation.



Budgeting & Cost Control:




  • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, optimizing cost without compromising efficiency.

  • Track maintenance expenses and recommend cost-saving initiatives.

  • Evaluate and approve service contracts with external vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance.



Qualifications & Skills




  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Minimum of 7 - 8 years of experience in maintenance within food processing, preferably in a cashew or nut processing facility.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.

  • Experience with TPM, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
