bout the Role

Service Dimensions:




  • With support from the N+1, the incumbent is involved in coordination of COMPANY's Well Geology Operations.

  • Indirect Reports: Wellsite Geologists (2 - 4 members; Rig /Activity dependent).

  • Key Collaborators: Field Assets, Drilling & Wells and Service Contractors.

  • Asset Domains: Onshore, Offshore and Deep Offshore (AOBO; Pressure Context: Depleted, Normal, HP/HT).

  • Annual Well Count: 6 - 10 Wells (2 - 3 Rigs; Development, Exploration and Appraisal), some Rigless Interventions.

  • Annual Value of Supervised Contracts: 8 - 15 M$ (Formation Evaluation), excludes 1 - 2 M$ for Studies in Asset Budget.

  • Annual Value of indirectly Implicated Contracts: 200 - 250 M$ (Drilling & Wells).



Activities

With support from the N+1, the incumbent follows-up and coordinates COMPANY's Geological opera rations relating to (but not limited to):




  • HSE: Championing and integrating common-s-sense and Company prescribed safety best practices in Well planning (e.g Pore Pressure Prognosis),), Geological data acquisition and follow-up of Well opera rations (Pore Pressure monitoring).

  • Planning: Liaising with stakeholders (Drillers, Assets, Explo, AOBO…) to validate Well Conceptual Phase (3W) and define technical requirements (Well Statement of Requirements - WSOR) and mitigations required to drill Wells safely (including strategy for efficient execution of Geological Operations).

  • Works with Service Contractors and Wellsite Geologists to plan logistics deployment (and demobilization) of personnel and equipment to and from the Wellsite.

  • Operations Supervision: Coordinates Wellsite Geologists and Contractors to monitor and execute Well and Geological operations (LWD, Wireline Logging, Mud Logging, Coring, Formation Pressure Testing and Fluid Sampling, VSP…..).

  • Reporting: Assuring timely, concise, and accurate reporting of Well activity (including Well Location Reports, Daily Reports and Geological End of Well Reports).

  • Pore Pressure: Performance of Pore Pressure Studies (Pre, during and Post-Well) with support from N+1 and HQ specialists.

  • Operations Quality Assurance: Liaising with Service Contractors (Wireline, Mud Logging….) to review performance and improve service quality through regular Service Quality Meetings, Audit of equipment (Unit, Gas Chain….).

  • Cost Control: Tracking and management of costs related to Well monitoring and Formation evaluation activities.

  • Know-How: Shares Geological operations feedback and experience to educate and inform stakeholders (GSR, DCD, HQ…).

  • Mentoring: Coaching Wellsite Geologists (especially Juniors / Cadets) to grow technical autonomy and improve soft skills.



Requirements




  • Formal Education (Diplomas): BSc or MSc in Geology (or equivalent).

  •  Technical Background: geological operations planning and supervision, Geosteering operations, Formation evaluation, Mud Logging etc.

  • Certifications: Must hold a valid certification from IFP Training in Subsurface Geological Operations.

  • Behaviour: Team Player, Pro-active, Attentive to details, Good Communicator, Open-Minded.
