Job Summary
- We are currently seeking a highly driven, strategic, and experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead business growth across our investment and trust product lines.
- The ideal candidate must possess a deep understanding of financial markets, a strong network of institutional relationships, and a track record of closing high-value mandates.
- The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth of all DLM Asset Management and Trustees’ products, securing institutional and retail mandates, and developing strategic partnerships.
- The individual will lead client acquisition, relationship management, and revenue generation initiatives while contributing to the firm’s long-term business development strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive growth and market penetration of all DLM Asset Management and DLM Trustees products among institutional and retail clients.
- Achieve Asset Under Management (AUM) growth target.
- Develop customized investment and trust solutions that align with the unique financial goals of prospects and clients.
- Proactively identify and win new business opportunities to meet agreed sales targets and KPIs.
- Lead the execution of strategic sales activities including client meetings, roadshows, campaigns, presentations, due diligence visits, and relationship-building efforts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across corporate institutions, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), pension fund administrators, insurance companies, family offices, NGOs, and multilateral agencies.
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction levels through consistent service delivery and client engagement.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (investment, legal, operations, compliance) to structure tailored solutions and ensure seamless client onboarding and servicing.
- Identify and develop new opportunities across Nigeria and other African markets, expanding the firm’s client base and partnerships.
- Provide market insights, competitor intelligence, and client feedback to inform product innovation and strategic planning.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Institutional Sales, Business Development, or Client Relationship Management within the financial services industry (Asset Management, Trusteeship, Investment Banking, or Wealth Management).
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, MBA, or other relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
- Deep understanding of investment and portfolio management, money and capital market operations, and trust services.
- Proven ability to craft client-centric financial solutions and drive sales performance in a competitive environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in generating and managing large-scale mandates (e.g., institutional portfolios, mutual fund distribution, trust accounts, structured products).
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent networking abilities and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles and work under pressure in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
