Job Responsibilities




  • Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring smooth workflow, efficiency, and the timely delivery of test results.

  • Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor laboratory performance through internal and external quality control measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  • Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning at optimal performance.

  • Oversee the validation, interpretation, and release of laboratory test results to ensure accuracy and precision.

  • Identify staff development needs and organize training programs to enhance the skill sets and competencies of laboratory personnel.

  • Lead efforts in the introduction of new diagnostic tests and laboratory services, staying abreast of advancements in diagnostic technology.

  • Prepare and manage the laboratory’s budget, including the cost of supplies, staffing, equipment, and maintenance.

  • Handle any discrepancies, incidents, or accidents related to laboratory operations, conducting thorough investigations and reporting findings to upper management.

  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain laboratory accreditation and certifications.

  • Provide reports and updates to management on laboratory performance, challenges, and future initiatives.

  • Work with the clinic’s management to develop strategic goals for the laboratory, including expanding services, adopting new technologies, or improving efficiency.



Job Requirements




  • A bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science with a current practising license from MLSCN.

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory.

  • Prior laboratory managerial or supervisory experience is mandatory.

  • Strong knowledge of quality control practices and regulatory compliance standards.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
