Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership:




  • Collaborate with the Head of School and Board of Governors to shape the school’s financial strategy and sustainability plans.

  • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

  • Advise on major financial decisions, investments, and capital expenditures.

  • Evaluate financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.



Budgeting & Financial Planning:




  • Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.

  • Monitor budget implementation and ensure fiscal discipline.

  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and reports.

  • Analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.



Financial Operations Oversight:




  • Supervise accounting operations, including payroll, accounts receivable/payable, procurement,

  • and banking.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee financial audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.

  • Maintain effective internal controls and safeguard school assets.



Compliance and Risk Management:




  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

  • Identify areas of financial risk and lead risk management efforts.

  • Provide regular updates to the Head of School and Board on compliance matters.



Team Leadership and Collaboration:




  • Lead and mentor the Finance and Accounts team.

  • Promote collaboration with other departments, including School Café, Facilities, and Resources.

  • Foster a high-performance, values-driven finance culture.
