Job Summary




  • As a School Secretary you will have administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the school.

  • You will serve as the first point of contact for parents, students, and visitors, and support school leadership in managing schedules, correspondence, records, and day-to-day administrative functions.



Key Responsibilities




  • Maintain school records, databases, and filing systems (physical and electronic).

  • Attend to parents and academic staff inquiries.

  • Prepare and distribute memos, newsletters, reports, and circulars.

  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and events for school leadership.

  • Maintain student records including enrollment, attendance, health, and academic records.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians on behalf of the school.

  • Assist with collection of fees and issue receipts under direction from the finance department.

  • Liaise with vendors and service providers as required.

  • Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive school records.

  • Support compliance with school policies, government regulations, and child safeguarding standards.



Key Qualifications




  • OND / HND / B.Sc. in Office Administration, or any relevant field.

  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years' experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in a school setting.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).



Skills and Competencies:




  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills, especially with parents and academic staff.

  • High level of discretion and professionalism.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proximity to Maryland or GRA is an added advantage.
