Job Summary:
The Accountant will be integral in managing and executing the financial transactions and strategies of the company. This role involves handling day-to-day accounting tasks, financial reporting, tax compliance, and ensuring accuracy in the company’s financial records. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work autonomously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for the company.
- Support in preparing financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support to manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.
- Conduct regular ledger maintenance and reconcile bank statements.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
- Assist in preparing tax returns to ensure the timely filing of all tax obligations.
- Assist in coordination with external auditors during financial audits.
- Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
- Manage petty cash transactions and ensure appropriate retirement of all petty cash accounts
- Provide support in financial forecasting and risk analysis.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 3 years post-NYSC experience.
- Professional accounting certification (such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA) is an advantage.
- Proven experience as an accountant with a thorough understanding of accounting procedures is required.
- Familiarity with accounting software and strong Excel skills is a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
