We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Facility Manager to join our team in Lagos. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our facilities, ensuring they are safe, functional, and conducive to a productive work environment for our employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring all aspects of our building and grounds are well-maintained.
Help coordinate and monitor all maintenance activities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, cleaning, and security services. You'll ensure that timely repairs and preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
Assist in liaising with external contractors and service providers. This includes getting quotations, scheduling work, and ensuring services are delivered to agreed standards.
Support the implementation and enforcement of health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Manage inventory of facility supplies, order new materials as needed, and ensure stock levels are maintained efficiently.
Assist with space planning and office reconfigurations, ensuring optimal utilization of our facilities.
Be a primary point of contact for staff regarding facility-related issues, responding promptly and effectively to requests and complaints.
Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service contracts, and facility budgets. Prepare regular reports for the Facility Manager.
Support the development and implementation of emergency procedures and participate in drills.
Assist with minor facility projects and renovations from planning to completion.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Facility / Estate Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in the Manufacturing industry
Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and general maintenance practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with staff, vendors, and contractors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
