To lead and oversee operational activities within a specific area of the mine (e.g., drilling & blasting, loading & hauling, crushing & screening, or beneficiation), ensuring production targets, safety standards, and cost efficiency are achieved in alignment with overall mine plans.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and monitor day-to-day operations in the assigned area (e.g., pit operations, crushing plant, beneficiation, or pellet plant).
Ensure compliance with production schedules, resource utilization, and equipment availability to meet daily and monthly targets.
Supervise frontline supervisors, operators, and contract personnel, ensuring proper work distribution and operational discipline.
Monitor equipment performance, material handling efficiency, and process bottlenecks; initiate improvements where required.
Enforce company policies and statutory mining safety regulations (DGMS/MMSD etc.) through routine audits and toolbox meetings.
Coordinate with maintenance, planning, and support teams to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution of breakdowns.
Review and analyze daily production and performance reports; prepare MIS for higher management.
Drive operational excellence initiatives including cost reduction, cycle time improvement, and productivity enhancement.
Qualifications
B.E. / B.Tech. in Mining, Mechanical, Metallurgy, or Mineral Processing.
Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (if applicable) is an added advantage.
Minimum 5–10 years of experience in mine operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
