Perform daily field rounds to monitor equipment and process parameters in the pellet plant, including induration machines, balling drums/discs, conveyors, and gas/air systems.
Coordinate with control room operators to ensure smooth process flow and respond promptly to any operational abnormalities.
Supervise field activities during startup, shutdown, and emergency situations.
Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards and promote safe work practices among operators and contractors.
Assist in routine checks and preventive maintenance by coordinating with the maintenance department and preparing equipment for isolation.
Maintain accurate shift logs, equipment checklist records, and production reports.
Provide on-the-job guidance to junior operators and contract workers.
Participate in troubleshooting of process issues and recommend improvements to optimize plant performance.
Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness in the field areas of the pellet plant.
Qualifications
Diploma / B.Sc / HND in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in pelletizing plant or similar process industry.
Sound knowledge of pellet plant processes (drying, balling, induration).
Familiarity with DCS/SCADA-based operations and basic instrumentation signals.
Working knowledge of safety standards (e.g., LOTO, PTW systems).
