Job Summary




  • Our client seeks a proactive and resourceful Business Development Officer.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing scrap batteries, managing aggregator relationships, and overseeing collation centres in Ogere and Ibadan.

  • This role requires strong negotiation skills, market awareness, and the ability to drive operational efficiency in the battery procurement process.



Key Responsibilities




  • Generate leads and drive procurement of lead-acid batteries.

  • Negotiate competitive, market-aligned purchase prices.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of purchases, supplier records, and battery quality assessments.

  • Oversee storage and handling of scrap batteries in line with environmental and internal guidelines.

  • Foster strong relationships with vendors and manage feedback or complaints.

  • Coordinate logistics and transportation of batteries to the factory in a cost-effective manner.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities and provide strategic insights to the BD Supervisor.

  • Support the coordination of special business development projects as assigned.

  • Lead generation targets and procurement volume achievement.

  • Accuracy and timeliness of documentation and reporting.

  • Efficiency in logistics coordination and delivery timelines.

  • Vendor satisfaction and retention rate.

  • Responsiveness to market shifts and competitor pricing.



Requirements




  • B.Sc in Business, Marketing, or any relevant field.

  • 1–2 years’ experience in sales, business development, or procurement.

  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and travel as required.

  • Familiarity with handling logistics and environmental compliance is a plus.
