Role Overview




  • Tsaro is seeking an impact-driven Policy and Research Analyst with a strong interest in the security industry.

  • The role involves conducting in-depth research, policy analysis, proposal development, and data collection to generate actionable insights that support the team’s strategic goals.



Key Responsibilities

Policy Development and Analysis:




  • Conduct in-depth research and draft policy documents in alignment with international best practices.

  • Assess the alignment of policy frameworks with project/client requirements and recommend improvements.

  • Analyze the benefits, risks, and implications of new and existing policies in relation to existing workstreams.



Data Collection and Insights Generation:




  • Design and oversee data collection for research studies, surveys, and strategic reviews.

  • Analyze datasets using qualitative and quantitative techniques, creating visualizations and reports.



Collaboration and Engagement:




  • Work closely with other departments to integrate research findings into organizational strategies.

  • Liaise with clients to schedule meetings, manage project timelines, and ensure seamless coordination.



Reporting and Presentations:




  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and policy briefs for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proofread and finalize policy documents, Acts, and research reports with precision and clarity.



Key Qualifications

Education & Experience:




  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in International Studies, Policy and Strategic Studies, Political Science, Security Science or any related field.

  • Certifications in the security field are added advantages.

  • 2 - 4 years working experience in policy, research and analysis especially in a research and policy development environment.

  • Proven experience with research methodologies, data collection, and interpretation.



Research and Analytical Skills:




  • Strong in-depth research skills and ability to generate key recommendations.

  • Experience in data analysis.

  • Strong critical, analytical skills.

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.



Project Management and Communication Skills:




  • Proficient in leveraging digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Suite) and AI to enhance project delivery.

  • Demonstrates ability to show initiative, and adapt quickly in dynamic environments.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • A proactive, curious mindset with attention to detail.
