We are seeking a versatile and culturally aware Regional Marketing & Communications Manager to lead our cross-border marketing and public relations initiatives across Nigeria (Yola, Abuja) and neighboring Francophone markets (Cameroon and either Niger or Chad).
The ideal candidate will drive brand visibility, manage regional campaigns, and ensure that messaging is consistent, effective, and culturally tailored across different countries.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute regional marketing and branding strategies across target countries.
Manage public relations campaigns, media engagements, and stakeholder communications in both English and French.
Adapt and localize advertising content to suit different markets and cultural expectations.
Monitor market trends and consumer behavior across Yola, Abuja, Cameroon, and one of Niger/Chad to inform strategy.
Build relationships with local influencers, partners, and media outlets across regions.
Oversee the production and distribution of multilingual marketing materials.
Track the performance of regional campaigns and prepare insightful reports.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (sales, digital, design, etc.) to align campaigns with business objectives.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
Master’s degree or professional certifications in marketing or PR (e.g., CIM, IABC, PRSA) is a plus.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in regional or international marketing, branding, or public relations.
Demonstrated success in handling multilingual campaigns and brand positioning across multiple African countries.
Prior experience working with or in Francophone Africa (especially Cameroon, Niger, or Chad) is required.
Skills & Competencies:
Bilingual fluency in English and French (mandatory); proficiency in a third regional language (e.g., Hausa, Fulfulde, or Arabic) is an advantage.
Strong storytelling, writing, and public speaking skills.
Solid understanding of digital marketing tools, social media management, and campaign analytics.
Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity across West and Central Africa.
Strong project management and organizational abilities.
Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions across borders.
Other Requirements:
Must be willing and able to travel frequently to Cameroon, Niger/Chad, and northern Nigeria.
Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours and manage multiple time zones.
Familiarity with both corporate and field-level communication dynamics.
