Job Overview:



The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing HSE policies and programs within Dangote Group, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and promoting a culture of safety across all operations. This role will require a strong leadership presence and a keen eye for detail.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop, implement and manage HSE management systems that comply with national and international standards.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of workplaces to ensure compliance with HSE regulations.

  • Lead incident investigations, analyze findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Organize and facilitate training programs to educate employees on HSE best practices and emergency response procedures.

  • Monitor and report on HSE performance through data collection and analysis, providing insights to management.

  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate HSE principles into operational protocols.

  • Stay current with changes in HSE regulations and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement.

  • Prepare and maintain HSE documentation, reports, and records for audits and regulatory inspections.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness throughout the organization.

  • Manage HSE budget and ensure efficient resource allocation.



Requirements



Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certifications are essential.

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, with at least 4 years in a managerial role within the cement, manufacturing, or related industry.



Skills and Competencies:




  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE management systems.

  • Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to analyze data and present findings effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
